This course is designed for anyone with basic computer skills who want to get a dynamic web site up and running fast. At the end of the day you will have your own Joomla! web site online, be able to add news, events, links, users, content pages, media and understand how to make the most of your Joomla! powered website. (minimum of 3, maximum 10 per class). The course will cover the following topics; * Introduction to Open Source Software and Joomla! * Intro to Joomla! site structure & control panel * How To: Edit content using various WYSIWYG editor * How To: Load media and insert it into content * How To: Add content & components to menus incl. copy, move & order * How To: Set parameters on menu items * How To: Layout your website incl. positioning modules, assign them to pages & templates * How To: Select & install extensions (modules, components & mambots) * Tips: Securing your Joomla website against malicious hackers * Tips: Search Engine Strategies to ensure a first page ranking * Q & A Session - come prepared to ask all your questions about Joomla Development and Management * Suggest a topic that you would like to know more about Cost: R1500 per person The course includes: - Morning Tea - Lunch - Afternoon Tea - Notes * Plus Travel Expenses 20% discount for registered charities, non-profit org's, churches etc. Please reserve your place as seats are limited.
