Glad to have you on board for what promises to be a really exciting adventure as Joomla! takes off in ernest in Southern Africa.

The Joomla Southern African User Group also seems to have gotten off to a healthy start with 11 Joomlarians who have accepted the first batch of email invitations, and are now members. Please feel free to invite others - SA Joomlarians are popping out of the net, faster than we can reply to their emails, and this should continue to rise.
Exciting developments too on the "Learn Joomla!" front - I sent a proposal to the Shuttleworth foundation suggesting that we create some official Courseware materials (see http://learnlinux.tsf.org.za/moodle/ by way of an example). This was copied to some of the Joomla Core Team members, which will hopefully ring some bells, ( I will post more on this topic in a separate email so that you get the gist of what the proposal is about, instead of copying and pasting the email, or retyping everything.
Joomla 101 starts at the University of Zululand tomorrow with a class of about 40 students who don't know it yet, but are about to undergo a Joomla Users course, which we are putting together, using some VERY PROFESSIONAL Joomla Visual Tutorials, thanks to Brad Baker, which should see them developing the skills to use a Joomla site and all that goes with that - Forums, RSS, Extensions, SourceForge, Groups etc - I am sure it will blow their minds, considering most of them have not published anything online ever before!
